Tanzanian music star Juma Jux has shed light on the decision to hold multiple wedding ceremonies, spanning different cultures and religions during his 2025 nuptials to Nigerian media personality Priscy Ojo.

In an exclusive interview with Wasafi FM, the 'God Design' hitmaker said that although the couple comes from different religious backgrounds, love and mutual respect guided every step of their journey.

“First of all, I believe we have one God,” Jux said.

“The wedding we did was an Islamic ceremony, that’s why we’ll be celebrating our anniversary on the same date we did our Nikkah ceremony. She has even received an Islamic wedding name, Hadiza Mkambala.” Following their Islamic union, Jux ensured the marriage was legally recognized in Tanzania through a civil ceremony.

“I did a civic wedding as well, which is a government wedding so that she is considered Tanzanian as well. Some benefits come when you marry someone from another country,” he explained.

Jux also revealed that he proposed to Priscy a second time after the Nikkah to upgrade her engagement ring, followed by a traditional wedding ceremony that honored their African heritage.

However, what sparked the most conversation online was their Christian wedding in Nigeria something Jux says was done at the request of Priscy’s family.

“Her family is Christian, and they asked us to do a Christian wedding. So we did a garden wedding, it wasn’t in a church because my wife had already converted,” he clarified.

“The rings were the same ones. They were just prayed upon. It was all about receiving blessings.” The couple had a grand wedding celebration that spanned several months in 2025. Their journey began with a Nikkah ceremony in Dar es Salaam on February 7th, followed by a civil wedding on February 13.

The celebrations then moved to Nigeria for a traditional wedding in Lagos on April 17 and a white wedding on April 19. The couple wrapped up their lavish union with a grand reception in Tanzania on May 28th.
