WE ARE TOLD the days of a government official in the communications sector are numbered. Why? The man has allegedly been giving conflicting information on crucial issues and colleagues complain he does not consult his superior directly handling the issues, forcing them to contradict what he has stated to the public. The man, who is a former politician, is reportedly being discussed adversely in a high office and it is a matter of when, not if, he will be let go. Some fear his poor performance is politically motivated as he is suspected to be plotting to eventually jump ship to another side.

With recent CCTV revelations, his handlers and politicians from his region are supposedly convinced the man was set up by people from a region they have fallen out with. Sources at the heart of his thinking whisper that some actors gave instructions to go overboard in handling the matter, with the aim of resting the blame on his shoulders. He allegedly vows to fight tooth and nail for his seat or go down with others if the options narrow for him.

A SENATOR FROM a region where the dominant party is reportedly in the final stages of a backroom agreement that would see certain seats “ringfenced” in exchange for cross-party cooperation is now said to be frantically trying to patch up with party mandarins whom he had in the past severed ties with. Whether his last-ditch charm offensive will bear fruit remains to be seen, but as a party veteran put it, it appears like he will have to pay for his months of rebellion.
