Police Issue Arrest Order for Musician and Officer Samidoh, Whereabouts Unknown

Administration Police Constable Samuel Ndirangu Muchoki, widely known by his stage name Samidoh, has been declared a deserter by the National Police Service after reportedly failing to return from an official off-duty assignment.

According to an internal memo dated June 9, 2025, Samidoh—who is attached to the Anti-Stock Theft Unit (MTD Company)—was scheduled to resume duty on May 27, 2025. However, he did not report back and has since been unreachable.

“The officer was granted an off-duty and was supposed to report back on May 27, 2025, but he failed. Since then, he has not been seen and his whereabouts are not known,” the memo states.

Following his continued absence, the National Police Service has classified him as a deserter effective June 6, 2025, citing that he has been absent without leave (AWOL) for over 10 days.

The directive, which originated from Stockpol Gilgil, has been circulated to key police units including DISGEN APS, Vigilance House Nairobi, the Central Records Office (CRO) Nairobi, and all Station Police Commanders (Stapols) across the country.

In response, the Pay Section has been ordered to immediately halt his salary, while the Stockpol MTD Company has been instructed to commence administrative proceedings. Additionally, CRO Nairobi is expected to publish the desertion notice in the upcoming edition of the National Police Gazette.

The Stapol in Gatumbiro has also been assigned to visit Samidoh’s residence and apprehend him if located.

Despite the police alert, Samidoh, who is also a renowned Kikuyu musician, has not publicly commented on his status. However, he appears to remain active online. As of 8:36 a.m. on June 10, 2025, he had posted on Instagram just two hours prior.

He appears to be currently in the US, where his family resides.
