Over the weekend, The Next Super Star judges Size 8, King Kaka, and Motif the Don were left in stitches after contestant Spitter 99 delivered a bold and controversial diss track that shook the stage.

In what has now gone viral on social media platforms, especially on TikTok, Spitter 99 took the stage with quiet confidence before unleashing a lyrical barrage that referenced the judges' personal lives and industry reputations.

“King Kaka my G, najua uliachwa na Nana. Uko na watoto, na uko na shughuli.”— A direct attack to King Kaka who recently separated with wife Nana Owiti.

The crowd erupted as King Kaka, momentarily stunned, burst into laughter.

“Motif the Don ajaribu kulipa okoa,”— a line that prompted Motif to chuckle in disbelief and shake his head, clearly caught off guard.

Size 8’s wide-eyed reaction said it all. But rather than take offense, she jumped to her feet, clapping and cheering.

“Ooh my God, you are the highest guy! I will give top marks today. You are super!” she said.

Motif, still absorbing the lyrical punch, shouted with a grin: “Huyu ni entertainer, sindio?” (This must be an entertainer, right?)

Speaking after the show, Spitter 99 broke his silence to clarify that the track wasn’t meant to offend anyone but was part of his creativity to earn attention and take home more than one million if he emerges as inner.

The show airs on Rembo TV and Rembo Plus TV, owned by Startimes Media.

“It wasn’t personal. It was just hip-hop, I wasn’t trying to hurt anyone. I was just telling my truth, in my style. That’s what makes a real artist. I didn’t go there to disrespect. I went there to perform.” He said.

He went on to express admiration for the next super Star judges, noting that they have contributed a lot to the music industry.

“I grew up watching King Kaka. I’ve learned a lot from Motif. But when you step on that stage, you either go all in — or go home.

Myke Mwai, Head of Content at StarTimes Kenya, said the moment captured the essence of Next Super Star.

“Spitter 99’s moment was raw, bold, and unfiltered — which is exactly what Next Super Star is all about,” he said.

He added, “While we urge contestants to be respectful, we also encourage them to challenge the norm and push creative boundaries. It shows how powerful this platform is. This is just the beginning. We’re proud to bring such fresh, disruptive talent to our viewers.”
