Kenya Power has listed areas scheduled for power interruption on Thursday, May 22, 2025.
The power company said areas in 12 counties will face power cuts at diverse times between 8 am and 5 pm.
The utility firm stated that the power cuts facilitate system maintenance.
Counties to be affected include Nairobi, Makueni, Bungoma, Isiolo, Uasin Gishu, Bomet, Kisii, Kiambu, Homa Bay, Nyeri, Makueni, Kakamega, Taita Taveta, among others.
Affected areas in Nairobi include parts of Kitsuru, Gigiri, and near St. Mary’s School.
Customers are advised to plan accordingly.
Nairobi
Kitsuru Area: Lower Kabete Road, UoN Lower Kabete Campus, Mwimuto, New Kitsuru, and Kitsuru Springs Estate.
Gigiri: Mangolia Drive, Daize Close and surrounding areas.
St. Mary’s School Vicinity: Loreto Msongari, Muthangari Police, part of James Gichuru Road, and Kabaserian Avenue.
Makueni
Maiani to Isovya: Maiani Market, Enzai, Mukaa, Nguluni, Kitandi, and Nunguni areas will experience outages from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Bomet
Lolgorian and Mararianda: Olpisiai, Kichwa Tembo, Angama, Oldonorok, and Masururaangata will be affected between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Uasin Gishu
Olare Ndanai to Ainabkoi: Areas such as Ngarua, Chelachbei, and Kapkeno will be off-grid from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Kakamega:
Musoli Market, Bukura College, Sigalagala Polytechnic, and surrounding areas.
Bungoma
Bukembe, Mechimeru, Kombo, and parts of the Nzoia Sugar belt, including Machinjoni, Mabanga ATC, and Rojja Villa.
Kisii
Nyangusu, Getumo, and Magena towns will see outages between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Homa Bay
Gendia, Kosele, Karabok, and Gonche areas from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Nyeri
(Ring Road and Kamakwa): Upper Ring Road, PC Residence, Kamakwa Market.
Isiolo
Archers Post, Wamba Town, Sarova Shaba, and the surrounding conservancies.
Kiambu
Sigona to KARI: Zambezi, Muguga, Kamangu, and nearby estates.
Juja (Bob Harries Road): Mungetho, Kariki Farm, Mtaro Farm, and surrounding agricultural areas.
Taita Taveta
Maktau Town, Lumo Conservancy, Kwa Mnengwa, and Lions Bluff.
Kenya Power advises affected customers to plan accordingly and apologises for any inconvenience caused.
