Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has launched a last mile electrification project in Isiolo, affirming the government’s commitment to expanding rural power access and maintaining close engagement with the public ahead of the next general elections.
Speaking at Rapsu village in Isiolo South Constituency, Kindiki announced that Isiolo County will receive Sh1.1 billion for rural electrification, a project set to benefit at least 6,000 households.

The initiative will be implemented by the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC).
“The government will continue engaging directly with the people on the ground. We promise the opposition that we will whitewash them in the next election,” Kindiki said.

He emphasised that the electrification project is part of the Kenya Kwanza administration’s agenda to spur development and improve the quality of life in underserved regions.
Kindiki was accompanied by Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo, Energy Principal Secretary Alex Wachira, and other local leaders during the commissioning ceremony.
