Kenyan radio presenter Kamene Goro has firmly dismissed allegations that she prevented her husband’s friends from visiting him in hospital.

The claims emerged amid reports that her husband, DJ Bonez, was in critical condition, grappling with serious kidney-related health issues.

A source close to the couple described the situation as severe, sparking concern among fans and friends.

The controversy intensified when blogger Njambi Fever reported that some of DJ Bonez’s friends accused Kamene of barring them from seeing him during his hospitalisation.

These allegations fuelled online speculation, with some questioning Kamene’s conduct during her husband’s health crisis.

In response, Kamene held an Instagram Q&A session to engage with her fans and clarify the rumours. When a follower asked how she had been coping, Kamene admitted the past few weeks had been tough.

“It’s been a bit hard, but God is good. Thank you so much for the love,” she wrote, appreciating the support.

Another fan asked about her husband’s health, citing rumours of his illness. Kamene responded sharply, urging compassion over gossip.

“He’s well. Feel free to ask him. Also, I believe humanity dictates that when someone is not well, you support, don’t ask for udaku [gossip] purposes. So if you had helped, you would know,” she stated, quashing the speculation.

Kamene also addressed claims that she blocked friends from visiting her husband, even after they allegedly helped cover his medical bills.

She dismissed the accusations as “misinformation and downright lies,” expressing frustration at being unfairly targeted.

“No, it’s not true. So much misinformation has been peddled about me about this situation. I’ve been maligned on outrageous levels. All I will say is you don’t know anything,” she wrote, underscoring the emotional toll of the rumours.

During the Q&A, Kamene also shared that she has no plans to have children, despite her fondness for them. “Love babies, not planning to have any,” she revealed candidly.

In a separate appearance in March 2025 on a cooking show hosted by media personality Boina, Kamene disclosed that she had previously earned over KSh 1 million (£6,000) per month during her radio career.

She described radio as a lucrative industry but ruled out hosting a Kiswahili show due to her limited fluency. “My Kiswahili is not that fluent, and I just can’t do it. What I do on radio is about life stories, the crazy things I do, and the crazy things I see people doing,” she explained.

Kamene also spoke warmly of her former co-host Jalang’o, praising his easygoing nature and their strong professional and personal connection.
