Singer Chris Brown has been arrested in Manchester over an alleged 2023 bottle attack.

Christopher Maurice Brown, commonly known as Chris Brown, has been arrested for allegedly attacking a music producer with a bottle two years ago.

The Metropolitan Police detained the 36-year-old R&B singer at The Lowry Hotel on ‘suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm’.

The arrest stems from the incident that occurred on February 19, 2023, at Tape nightclub in London. Producer Abraham Diaw alleged that Chris Brown struck him over the head with a tequila bottle, before punching and kicking him as he lay on the floor.

Abraham Diaw told the outlet, “He hit me over the head two or three times. "My knee collapsed as well,” resulting in him going to the hospital. The newspaper reported that the victim, a producer, had to be taken to the hospital and needed crutches to walk when he was discharged.

The Grammy winner allegedly “ruthlessly” stomped on Diaw and kicked him in the back of the neck, resulting in the producer falling unconscious for 30 seconds. This incident is the latest in Brown’s long pattern that includes past arrests and restraining orders.

Abraham Diaw launched a civil claim against Brown for $16 million in damages for injuries and losses suffered as a result of the alleged attack.

The arrest occurred just hours after Brown arrived in the UK via private jet for his upcoming Breezy Bowl XX tour. Police had been investigating the incident since February 2023, but were unable to question Brown at the time as he had left the country. Upon his return, detectives located him at the hotel and took him into custody.

As of now, Chris Brown remains in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.

The arrest raises questions about the potential impact on his scheduled performances in the UK. Authorities have not disclosed further details about the case or any potential legal proceedings.
