Maina Kageni

One of the best things to ever happen to me was meeting Edward Carey Francis Kwach.... his energy and go-getter attitude certainly rubbed off on us..... then we started a radio show together on Kiss 100 alongside Arjun Vidyarthi, then Ciku Muiruri then Cess Mutungi.... and I realised that I was working with a broadcast genius....

Today, the Kenyan radio industry mourns one of its greatest voices — Edward Kwach.

 A colleague, a mentor, a friend.

The voice that commanded radio and the spirit that inspired so many of us to believe in the power of authenticity and boldness.

Edward once told me, “You’re doing radio differently — and that’s what makes you unique.”

Those words stayed with me. They gave me courage at moments when I doubted my path.

Today, I honor the man who didn’t just set the standard — he was the standard.

His energy, his wisdom, and his unmatched presence on and off the mic will never be forgotten.

 Rest easy, Edward.

Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for being the voice and the light we all looked up to.

You will be missed deeply, but your impact will live forever. #RIPEdwardKwach #Legend

Many people don't know this...but we are 1st cousins...and when he got into radio back in the 90s my dream of getting into radio was more relatable because Carey as we know him had done it..and followed his footsteps until i got in...

We have had friendly competition until now.with pur deep voices competing for adverts and the likes .Its sad that some of the ideas we had will not materialize but i will keep the dream alive.!
