President William Ruto on Wednesday presided over a Cadet Commissioning Parade at the Kenya Military Academy in Lanet.

The President said the occasion marks not only the culmination of months of hard work, discipline, and determination, but also the beginning of careers dedicated to honour, duty, and service.

He congratulated the graduates, including the first bunch of those who pursued the Bachelor’s degree in Defence and Security Studies from the National Defence University of Kenya.

“These graduating officers are not just soldiers; they are scholars, strategists, and patriots. I am confident they have been thoroughly prepared, morally grounded, and expertly equipped to shoulder the sacred responsibility of defending our people, sovereignty, and territorial integrity with courage, clarity, and commitment,” he stated.

The parade marks the culmination of up to three years of intense training.

The Cadets undergo rigorous evaluation, tests and assessments in various military disciplines individually and as groups.
