Kenyan influencer Mungai Eve has once again found herself at the centre of controversy after her current boyfriend, Victor Lameck—popularly known as Shifuwayy—posted worrying messages online about her.

While social media quickly lit up with speculation, one of the most surprising voices to come to Eve’s defence was none other than her ex-boyfriend and former creative partner, Director Trevor.

Despite their highly publicised breakup in early 2024, Trevor stepped forward to vouch for her character.

Trevor described Eve as a “good person” who wouldn’t harm anyone stressing that she simply doesn’t have the time or energy for such drama.

“She’s a big brand, and she has worked extremely hard. People don’t realise how much effort goes into influencing. Let her enjoy her money,” he said, referring to the KSh 750,000 Eve reportedly spent on her 25th birthday.

He added that Eve was financially independent, and the amount of money she spent wasn’t extravagant for someone of her stature.

“She has her own money. She’s earned it,” he insisted, brushing off criticism over her spending habits.

In a surprising twist, Trevor also retracted previous allegations he had made against Eve during the heat of their breakup.

Back in 2024, he had accused her of being abusive, even claiming she hit him with a wooden cooking stick over a phone charger.

He now says he regrets making those statements and does not wish to tarnish her image any further.

“We don’t talk much these days,” Trevor admitted when asked about their current relationship. “But everyone is just busy with their own things. That doesn’t mean we can’t talk again in the future.”

Their breakup, which shocked fans at the time, also came with professional fallout. After nearly six years together, not only did they part ways romantically, but Trevor also cut ties with Eve professionally.

In February 2024, he announced that Mungai Eve’s widely popular YouTube channel—boasting nearly 800,000 subscribers—would be rebranded as Kenya Online Media, and that her services were no longer needed. The same fate met other channels, including Insta Fame and her Facebook page.

This decision came as a shock, especially since Trevor had previously vowed never to take the platforms away from Eve, even if they broke up.

However, during a candid interview in January 2025, Trevor shared his reasons for going back on his word.

According to him, the final days of their relationship were marred by emotional tension and what he described as a lack of respect.

He recounted feeling humiliated after Eve made him wait outside their shared home while she went to visit her new boyfriend. She later insisted on inspecting his belongings before he could move out.

Trevor also accused Eve of financial manipulation during the split, saying she sent him a minimal amount of money to facilitate his relocation, knowing full well it wouldn’t cover his moving costs or the rent he had already paid.

“I left her with everything we had built together, even the home we constructed for her mother in the village. I sacrificed a lot,” he said.

Feeling betrayed and deeply hurt, Trevor decided to reclaim the YouTube channels he had founded and nurtured. It was, as he put it, his way of getting his dignity back.
