Sean Kingston and His Mother Found Guilty of Fraud

Sean Kington and his mother Janice Turner have been found guilty of committing wire fraud.

The two were found guilty on multiple wire fraud charges after a Florida courtroom trial on March 28, 2025.

His Sentencing is scheduled for July 11 2025. 

Kingston, 35, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, became visibly emotional as the jury delivered its verdict, crying out, “Protect my mother,” as officials took Turner into custody.

Prosecutors have confirmed that they could each face up to 20 years in prison for the charges.

Sean and his mother are being accused of defrauding jewelers, car dealership company and TV installment company. 

This conviction follows a string of similar cases, including a 2006 bank fraud conviction and a history of legal disputes.

In May 2024, the singer and his mother were arrested in California after police raided his house. The end of May 2024, the singer agreed to be extradited to Florida.

In June the same year, a Florida court set a bond of a hundred thousand dollars for the rapper who had waived his right of challenging the extradition.

At the time Kingston was on probation for allegedly trafficking stolen property at the time of his arrest. 

Mr Kingston, a Jamaican-born singer known for hits such as Beautiful Girls, Fire Burning, and Eenie Meenie, shared a statement on his Instagram account before he and his mother were arrested last month.
At the time, 

"I am good and so is my mother," he wrote. "My lawyers are handling everything as we speak."

Fast forward to 2025 right after he and his mother have been found guilty of fraud, he shared a picture of her on Instagram, revealing how much he loved her while assuring her that everything will be okay.

"My Only Queen Forever," he wrote

Adding "Love you, I promise you this is not the end." he concluded

Mama Kingston's last Instagram post before her conviction was her birthday celebration.

"God thanks for waking me up so I can celebrate another year, thanks to my family especially my sisters , my children and my friends for making my birthday so special love you guys loads," she wrote

Her son also showered her with love writing "Best Mother ever created in my heart and eyes."

Kingston is known for his breakthrough song 'Beautiful Girls' which as of 2025 is at 1.3 Billion views on YouTube.
