Oga Obinna with Dem Wa Facebook
Popular YouTuber Oga Obinna has addressed the changes in his weekly show following his split with content creator Dem wa Facebook.

In a recent interview, Obinna explained that he chose to rebrand the show after parting ways with Dem wa Facebook, as he wanted to shift the content direction and avoid unnecessary comparisons with his new co-host, Kartelo.

"We wanted to have a level playing field so that people cannot start comparing this one and the other," Obinna stated.

He clarified that the new show format is different from the one he previously hosted with Dem wa Facebook.

As a result, he decided to remove all their past content to mark a fresh start. While acknowledging that both versions share similarities, he emphasized that the current format, featuring Kartelo, appeals to a different audience.

"The other one was more official, but this one is not because Kartelo also appeals to watu wako kwa base," he explained.

Addressing speculation over the removal of past videos, Obinna insisted that the decision was not driven by bad blood but rather to prevent unnecessary demands from fans.

"People had started saying that since we are not working together but the content is still there, I should pay her for it, yet they don’t even know the nature of our agreement. The videos were not removed due to bad blood," he clarified.

Obinna also dismissed suggestions that he should have started a separate channel for the new show, asserting that his platform has always been under his control.

He pointed out that with the new content direction, there would be no claims that the previous show with Dem wa Facebook was responsible for the success of the rebranded version.

Back in November, some Kenyans had hoped for a reconciliation between Obinna and his former co-host.

This speculation arose after Obinna was seen holding a contract with both his and Dem wa Facebook's names written on it, though he kept the details hidden.

The sighting led to excitement among fans, who flooded his comment section with calls for the duo to reunite.

Further speculation grew when content creator Mama Kaunty blamed fans for putting too much pressure on the show, leading to its downfall.

Additionally, Obinna’s absence from Dem wa Facebook’s birthday celebration fueled rumours of a strained relationship.

On November 20, when asked about the possibility of reviving the show, Obinna remained non-committal.

"I am not promising that the show will return. Possibilities are limitless when God is involved," he stated, affirming that he and Dem wa Facebook were no longer working together.
