Young Lions Competition
Kenya’s top creatives are competing for a chance to represent the country at the prestigious Cannes Young Lions event in France this June.

The Young Lions Kenya competition aims to highlight authentic and innovative talent.

Contestant Francis Kimathi, a digital creative specializing in gaming and online platforms, expressed excitement about the competition and gratitude to Safaricom for the opportunity.

At the kickoff event on March 8, sponsors like Tusker and Safaricom encouraged participants, stressing their commitment to nurturing young talent.

Safaricom’s Zizwe Awuor highlighted the need for more African representation at Cannes, pledging long-term support for the creative industry.

Participants will develop creative campaigns, with winners announced on March 9. The finalists will then head to France for the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2025.
