Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Thursday hosted 78 MPs from coffee growing Rift Valley, Central, Eastern, Western and Nyanza regions.

The meeting held at his Karen office sought to review the ongoing coffee reforms.

The parliamentary Coffee Caucus is pushing for the harmonization of laws and regulations to reduce deductions made to farmers' produce.

This, the leaders say, ensures farmers have more income.

MPs also want the government to offset all debts owed by Coffee Cooperative Unions and free farmers from recovery deductions.

They are also pushing for an increase of the cherry fund to at least Sh3 billion.
