The 2025 Madaraka Day Celebrations will be held at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay Town.

The theme of the celebrations will be Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs.

Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo also said that plans are underway to expand and rehabilitate Kabunde Airstrip and some identified road infrastructure within the area.

In addition, the stadium will be rehabilitated to have a cumulative capacity of 12,000 persons with contractors on site.

PS Omollo on Thursday led the National Celebrations Steering Committee in having extensive deliberations with the local political leaders led by Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga and MP Kaluma.

Other key leaders present were principal secretaries for roads and transport, among others.
