2Baba and Annie Macaulay

Nigerian politician Natasha Osawaru has added the surname Idibia to her name, sparking speculation about her relationship with legendary singer 2Face Idibia.

Meanwhile, 2Face’s wife, Annie, has officially dropped his name, reverting to her maiden name, Annie Uwana Macaulay.

2Face Announces Divorce from Annie

In January, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, announced his separation from Annie and revealed that he had filed for divorce.

"Hello my beautiful people of all federations. Well, this thing I have to say is short but also long. Annie Macaulay and I have been separated for a while now and have currently filed for divorce."

He continued, "Not because it is anyone’s right to know about my personal life, but because I love my people and need them to know my innocence or offense. Stay blessed, my people. I love you all."

A month later, 2Baba proposed to Natasha Osawaru, an Edo State lawmaker in Nigeria.

Annie and 2Baba’s Relationship

Annie and 2Baba's love story began as friendship, with Annie appearing in his hit music video African Queen in 2004.

The two dated for years, but their relationship faced challenges, as 2Baba fathered children with other women.

In 2012, they tied the knot in a traditional wedding in Lagos, followed by a white wedding in Dubai, attended by close family, friends, and celebrities. The couple shares two children, Isabella and Olivia.

Annie’s Silence and First Public Statement

Since the divorce announcement, Annie has remained silent, only resurfacing on social media a few days ago to express gratitude to those who supported her during this difficult time.

"To my family, to my friends who came through for me, the support system I have now, all my amazing family here and all over the world—God bless you for the outpouring of love. I appreciate every single one of you, and I do not take any of it for granted. May the universe continue to be in your favor. God bless you all.
Lots of LOVE,
Annie Uwana Macaulay."
