President William Ruto has arrived in Kampala, Uganda, for the African Union Commission Extraordinary Summit on the Post-Malabo Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP).

CAADP, is a key AU Agenda 2063 initiative that aims to eradicate hunger and poverty through agriculture-led development and transform Africa's agri-food systems.

Ruto left the country on Saturday morning to attend the summit that will assess the progress made towards the targets set and seek to adopt the Kampala Declaration, outlining a shared vision for transforming agri-food systems from 2026 to 2035.

He was received by officials from the Kenyan Embassy, including Ambassador Joash Maangi and other senior Ugandan state officials.

The President is expected to showcase Kenya's efforts to enhance food security, reduce poverty, create jobs and promote sustainable growth.

He will also hold several sideline meetings with President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda and other leaders in a bid to advance regional priorities.
