Tanzanian gospel singer Joel Lwaga jetted into the country on Monday with the intention of performing at the Churchill Show where he was part of the headliners of the event.

In an interview with journalists, the 'Olodumare' hitmaker said he was excited to crossover the year in Kenya.

On new year's eve, Mr. Lwaga did not get on stage leaving fans with questions. In a statement, he said he arrived at the event as planned. 

"We encountered significant challenges in the arrangement and organization of the event, which did not meet the agreed-upon standards and contractual obligations."

He went on to say that as ministers of the Gospel and professionals, they worked tirelessly and engaged in discussions with the event organizers in an attempt to resolve the issues and proceed with the performance.

"Unfortunately, we were unable to reach an agreement, as the conditions were not conducive for Joel Lwaga to take the stage," the statement claimed.

He also apologized to is fans;

"We sincerely apologize to all the fans who came with high expectations to experience Joel’s ministry in music. Your support means the world to us, and it pains us deeply that circumstances beyond our control led to this outcome."

"As Ospo Music Group, we are committed to upholding the values and professionalism that our artists represent. We believe in providing a safe and honorable environment for performances, and we will continue to advocate for such standards moving forward."

"Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to creating more opportunities to connect with you in the future under better circumstances."

Lwaga was supposed to share the stage with fellow Tanzanian singer Christina Shusho, Rwanda's Isreal Mbonyi, Kenya's Hopekid and gospel minister Eunice Njeri who all performed at the event.

On the other hand, Churchill took to social media to thank his fans for support."

'Over the years, my wish has been to create a platform for everyone and provide our fans with the best experience. Thank you for coming and worshiping with us! It was truly a blessing to gather in unity for His glory."
