Zendiambo, the Kenyan MC who started the 'Mapangale' dance challenge has spoken out for the first time after the challenge received mixed reviews.

Despite the challenge of receiving thousands of interactions, most social media users have accused it of promoting violence.

'Mapangale' which is from the word 'Panga' involves people dancing while showing the action of cutting one's neck.

Others have taken the challenge far by dancing with physical pangas.

In his response to critics, Zendiambo wrote "Venye dance ya moonwalk ilitolewa did people go to the moon? Mimi mtu asiniambie kitu," he wrote

Adding "No one has forced the dance on anyone. Kama haikubambi keep off acha kutuwekea jam na sijui netizens sijui citizen."
