The candidates for the presidency of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) will face off in a live debate on Friday, October 25, at the East African Catholic University auditorium. The debate will kick off at 12 noon.

This debate is organized by Radio Africa Events and aims to bring together all the candidates to present their agendas for implementation if elected.

It will also provide an opportunity for football fans to ask questions to these candidates.

During the event, the candidates approved by the FKF electoral board will be on stage to share their views on the growth of football in Kenya.

The FKF electoral board has approved nine candidates who will be on the ballot for the election scheduled for December 7 of this year.

The candidates are:

  1. Doris Petra

    She has served as the deputy president of FKF under the outgoing president Nick Mwendwa. Petra has served for two terms and is vying for a higher position in FKF, selecting Nick Mwendwa as her running mate.

  2. Barry Otieno

    He announced his candidacy a few days after resigning as FKF's secretary general. Apart from being the secretary general, he was the chief executive officer of FKF during Nick Mwendwa's leadership. The former FKF CEO appointed Lucy Kageni as the representative of the FKF Nyandarua branch.

  3. Hussein Mohammed

    The chief executive officer of Xtreme Sports, Hussein Mohammed, is also vying for the FKF presidency. Hussein was previously the chairman of the Murang’a Seals club, which participates in the national football league. He is running for FKF president alongside MacDonald Mariga, the only Kenyan to win the UEFA Champions League with Inter Milan in 2010.

  4. Sam Ochola

    He is another candidate aiming to lead FKF for the next four years if elected. Sam is the secretary general of Gor Mahia club. He seeks to lead FKF alongside Willis Waliaula, who has previously managed Sofapaka and Tusker clubs.

  5. Toto Shimanyula

    Coming from Kakamega, he is not left behind in the race for FKF leadership. This businessman, who is also the owner of Kakamega Homeboyz club, is eyeing the position with running mate Twaha Mbarak, who is the deputy chairman of Bandari club.

  6. Sammy Owino Kempes

    A former player for Gor Mahia and the national team, Harambee Stars. He aims to lead FKF with close support from Evance Kadenge.

  7. Tom Alila

    He was a member of the national executive committee representing the Nyanza region. He has chosen Beryl Adhiambo to seek the FKF presidency alongside him.

  8. Chris Amimo

    He has entered the FKF elections in collaboration with Antony Makau. Both were representatives of the national executive committee representing the Nairobi and Eastern regions, respectively.

  9. Sam Nyamweya

    He is the former president of the national football federation, having handed over to Nick Mwendwa after completing his term. He is vying alongside former Mathare United chief executive officer Patricia Mutheu.
