SportPesa League side Shabana coach Ahmed Fathi is confident they will end their three-game winless run when they host Police FC at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru on Monday.

Coach Fathi said he is worried about the winless run at home and will be out to record their first home win at their adopted ground.

“I want to assure our supporters that we shall give 100 per cent during the game against Police. We want maximum points to make our fans proud,” said the Egyptian.

He added: “The mood in the camp is good. We have been working on the mistakes we made during the midweek game against Migori Youth. The beginning of the season is always tough, but we are working to improve.”

Shabana drew 1-1 against Migori Youth on Thursday at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru. Fathi, however, said he is happy the team is unbeaten in the league so far, in four games. Their only win was the opening game against Posta Rangers, which they won 1-0 at Wanguru Stadium. The club has drawn against AFC Leopards, Nairobi United and Migori Youth, conceding only once. “Step by step we are getting better. We have a lot of new players, so it takes time for them to gel,” he added.

He downplayed the fixture congestion. “Fixture congestion does not affect Shabana alone. The most important thing is to work on the recovery of players after games,” added the tactician.

Right-back Brian Bett, popularly known as Mashinani, concurred with coach Fathi, saying they are ready to turn the page in November.

He, however, anticipates a tough duel against the law enforcers who ended their unbeaten run last Wednesday following a 1-0 win over Ulinzi Stars.

“The game against Police FC is always a tough one, but we are ready to face them. Our target is to start November with a win. The draw against Migori Youth felt like a loss to us,” added the defender, who has cemented his starting place under coach Fathi.
