Wiper Patrotic Leader Kalonzo Musyoka addressing the public in Machakos county on October 31, 2026.

Wiper Patriotic Front party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has maintained that he will not join the government.

Addressing faithful at AIC Kyemutheke Church in Mavoko, Machakos County on Sunday, Kalonzo said he was ready to meet President William Ruto on the ballot in 2027.

"We have said no. You don't expect Kalonzo to join a predators' government. It is not possible. We will meet on the ballot. I will be on the ballot. No, thank you very much," Kalonzo said.

Kalonzo revisited instances where he remained firm when late former Prime Minister had hand shakes with retired President Uhuru Kenyatta and President William Ruto.

The former Vice President claimed the Kamba community had been looked down upon, but did not expound on his claims.

He said the country needs gracious leadership.

"Let's begin to be sensitive and know that the time has changed. The time is calling for gracious leadership. Kenyans are suffering from the high cost of living and high taxation," Kalonzo said.

He urged the Kamba community to join other communities in pushing for change in the country's leadership.

Kalonzo said dualling of the Nairobi-Mombasa highway would be among his priorities if he ascends to power, citing the hundreds of lives lost in road traffic accidents.

While passing his condolences to Mutua Kitavi, Kitui based Nation Newspaper correspondent who died on October 30, Kalonzo called on county governments to stock health facilities with snake venom.

"I want to suggest to county governments, please do something on about snake venom. Kitavi's life could have been saved if there could be snake venom in Kitui. We didn't have to lose him at that level," Kalonzo said.

Kalonzo said Kitavi died of snake bite because he wasn't able to access snake venom in good time.

"Kitavi died of a snake bite, and because of the distance between his village and Kitui. By the time they were taking him to Kitui, venom had gotten into his body. They eventually transferred him to Kenyatta Teaching and Referral Hospital and he went to ICU before dying on October 30," he said.

He said Kitavi's death wasn't a big loss only for the community he comes from but the entire journalism community.

Kalonzo said the deceased was working on his second autobiography before his death.
