Mugithi singer Samidoh Muchoki has taken a trip down memory lane after returning to the secondary school where he first met his wife, Edday Nderitu.
The musician visited Ol Joro Orok Secondary School in Nyandarua County on Tuesday, October 27, where he joined students for a prayer session ahead of their national examinations.
Samidoh shared moments from the visit on social media, revealing that the institution played an important role in his life long before he became a household name in the Kenyan music industry.
The singer was warmly received by students, who cheered as he was introduced during the gathering.
Reflecting on the visit, Samidoh revealed that he was once a student at the same institution, where he went by admission number 773.
“Earlier today, I joined Ol Joro Orok Secondary School, my former school, in a day of prayers for the candidates ahead of their exams. We were privileged to have Rigathi Gachagua wish the candidates success na akawapanga,” he wrote.
Samidoh and Edday met in high school.
Beyond his music career, the school holds a special place in Samidoh’s personal life because it is where he met Edday.
The couple began their relationship as teenagers while still in school, long before the singer gained national recognition through his Mugithi music.

Their relationship has attracted considerable public interest over the years, with fans occasionally revisiting their early love story.
Samidoh has previously spoken about how shy he was when approaching girls before meeting Edday.

In an earlier interview, he recalled that their first date was a simple affair, with him buying her snacks.
The couple later built a family together and have three children.
His latest visit offered a reminder of his early years and the experiences that shaped his life before fame.

The school visit also featured former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, who addressed the students by phone during the gathering.
Gachagua encouraged the candidates to remain disciplined and prepare well for their examinations, expressing confidence in their ability to perform.

“Are you okay? I am very happy to get an opportunity to say hi and to wish you God’s blessings as you prepare for exams. I am very sure you will do well. You are the future of our country. Stay with good company and be obedient. I will get time to come and visit you,” he told them.
He subsequently donated KSh100,000 to the students for bread, drawing cheers from those present.
The visit comes as Samidoh pursues his political ambitions, having expressed interest in contesting the Ol Joro Orok parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election.
