Kenyan courts resolved a record 509,664 cases in the 2023/24 financial year, as case filings rose to 516,121. The Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis says filings rose from 402,243 in 2017/18, while filings and resolutions both dropped sharply in 2019/20. The latest figures point to a recovery in judicial output, narrowing the gap between cases filed and those resolved.
