Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has received a glowing birthday message from his wife, Fridah Muthoni, who described him as an exceptional husband and father while praying for his future leadership.

Muthoni celebrated Babu as he turned 37, saying she considered herself lucky to have him as a husband despite the political controversies that sometimes surround him.

“Nimebarikiwa sana kuwa na bwana mzuri kama Babu. Najua kuna yenye huwa mnaona huko nje vile anafanya siasa, lakini niko na bwana, ni kama Mungu akipeana mabwana hiyo siku sikulala, nilirauka nikapewa the best at the top,” she said.

“Nashukuru Mungu kuwa na bwana mzuri kwa watoto wetu ambao Mungu ametubariki nao na pia ni baba mzuri kwa watoto wote,” she said.

In her birthday prayer, Muthoni asked God to grant Babu good health, favour and success in his endeavours, expressing confidence that his leadership ambitions could extend beyond Nairobi County to the national stage.

“For this new year which God has blessed you with, I pray that the favours surround you like a shield, that you will move from glory to glory, that you are like a light that has been set on a hill that cannot be hidden and that you will shine not just for the county of Nairobi but you will shine to the nation,” she said.

“I pray that God will enlarge your capacity, enlarge your shoulders because you are not just going to carry this county, you are going to carry this country one day."

She asked God to protect him, expand his influence and help him fulfil his purpose.

Muthoni further invoked Psalm 91 in praying for his safety, asking that no harm come his way and that he remain under God's protection.

Her message comes as Babu continues to feature in political discussions around Nairobi and the wider opposition landscape ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The MP has been among leaders whose political ambitions and national profile have attracted attention beyond their constituencies.

He has already announced his intention to vie for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in the 2027 general election.
