Wiper Patrotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka addressing the public in Mombasa county on October 10, 2026.

Wiper Patriotic Front and Ukombozi Alliance leader Kalonzo Musyoka has demanded full accountability for funds allocated to Ebola preparedness and response, accusing the government of negligence in protecting Kenyans from the threat.

Addressing residents in Kisauni, Mombasa County, on Saturday during the second day of his coastal tour, Kalonzo said he had spoken to the US Ambassador on the need to follow up on any financial assistance directed to the Ministry of Health.

"Kenyans must not lose their lives because of negligence and corruption," Kalonzo said.

Kalonzo was accompanied by Democratic Party leader Justin Muturi, Wiper Deputy Party Leader Mohamed Ali, National Chairman Jamleck Kamau, Secretary General Senator Shakila Abdalla, party spokesperson Ndegwa Njiru, and several MPs, Senators and MCAs.

The day began in Kilifi Town, where Kalonzo presided over the official opening of the Democratic Party county office, before proceeding to Kisauni and Shanzu for public rallies.

On the 2027 General Election, Kalonzo raised concerns over claims that foreign nationals from Uganda and Somalia could be brought into the country to vote.

He warned that no non-citizen will be allowed to participate in the polls, insisting that electoral laws and the integrity of the process must be protected.

He also dismissed calls to suspend political rallies, saying public engagements and political meetings will continue across the country.

On agriculture, Kalonzo criticised the government's handling of the sector, citing rising production costs and challenges facing farmers.

He questioned why the government is proposing buffalo milk amid a milk shortage instead of addressing challenges facing dairy farmers and restoring production.

He urged all eligible Kenyans to prepare for the IEBC's mass voter registration exercise scheduled for November and to exercise their constitutional right to vote in 2027.

Kalonzo reaffirmed Wiper's commitment to expanding its grassroots presence across the Coast region, singling out Deputy Party Leaders Mohamed Ali and Aisha Jumwa, together with Secretary General Shakila Abdalla, for strengthening mobilisation and organisational structures.

The leaders thanked residents of Kilifi and Mombasa counties for the warm reception and reaffirmed their commitment to opposition unity, constitutionalism and addressing economic challenges facing Kenyans.
