People’s Liberation Party (PLP) leader Martha Karua has said the leaders and Kenyans who attended her father Mwalimu Jackson Karua’s burial in Kirinyaga demonstrated that the country can overcome its divisions.
Karua expressed gratitude to leaders, dignitaries and friends from across the country who joined her family to mourn and honour her late father.
She said their presence reminded her that Kenyans can hold different political convictions while maintaining a shared sense of humanity and responsibility.
“Their presence has reminded me that Kenya does not have to be defined by the things that divide us,” Karua said.
She added that Kenyans could disagree while still recognising “our shared humanity, our common hopes and our responsibility to build a country in which every generation has the opportunity to thrive.”Leaders, family members and friends during the burial of People’s Liberation Party leader Martha Karua’s father, Mwalimu Jackson Karua, in Kirinyaga on Saturday, October 3, 2026/X
