The East Africa oil refinery in Lamu is among the fastest projects being undertaken by billionaire Aliko Dangote. Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony, Dangote said he only became familiar with Lamu in May after changing his research focus from Tanga. He added that some machinery for the Sh2 trillion project has already arrived, with more equipment expected to be delivered over the next 60 days.
