The partnership was unveiled during the PIPSSA Under-11 Soccer Tournament at Crawford International School, where NCBA presented the association with a Sh1 million sponsorship cheque.
NCBA will support PIPSSA’s sporting programmes, competitions, equipment and facilities throughout the academic year.
The partnership brings together more than 35 private and international schools and over 10,000 student-athletes and their families, providing NCBA with a platform to engage with one of Kenya’s growing school sports networks.
NCBA Group director, Retail Banking, Dennis Njau said the partnership was about creating opportunities for young people to develop their talents both on and off the field.
“At NCBA, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to discover their potential and pursue their ambitions. This partnership is about much more than sport. It is about investing in future leaders, building stronger communities and creating opportunities that enable young people to thrive,” said Njau.
PIPSSA chairlady Jedidah Munyua said the partnership would help the association strengthen its programmes and expand opportunities for learners.
“With NCBA’s support, we will strengthen our programmes, expand opportunities for learners and continue using sport as a platform to develop character, leadership and excellence among young people,” she said.
Beyond sport, NCBA will provide schools with access to financial solutions covering infrastructure and asset financing, transaction banking, digital collections, insurance and investment services.
The partnership adds to NCBA’s investment in sports development, including its Junior Golf Programme under the NCBA Golf Series, which provides young athletes with opportunities to develop their skills and compete at higher levels.
