Kenya will host the Magical Kenya Open from February 18-21, 2027, after the tournament was retained on the DP World Tour calendar announced on Wednesday.
The event is among 42 tournaments to be held across 24 countries as part of the 2027 Race to Dubai, further strengthening Kenya’s position on the global golf calendar.
Kenya Open Golf Limited chairman Patrick Obath said the tournament offers benefits beyond the competition, with a potential global television audience of more than 600 million viewers.
“Since global visibility remains a central pillar for Kenya and its economy, the tournament targets an audience of more than 600 million viewers worldwide, positioning Kenya prominently on the global stage,” Obath said.
“This opportunity reaffirms that the Magical Kenya Open can no longer be defined solely by scores and leaderboards, but by the value it brings at the intersection of sport, business, culture, tourism, sustainability and positioning the country into a global community.”
The 2027 schedule will also see the return of three historic national Opens — the Deutsche Bank Singapore Open, Open de Portugal|Cascais-Lisboa and Hong Kong Open.
The Singapore Open, established in 1961, will be played at Sentosa Golf Club from April 15-18 and will be co-sanctioned with the Asian Tour under a new tripartite partnership involving the PGA Tour.
The Open de Portugal|Cascais-Lisboa returns for the first time since 2020 and will be staged at Oitavos Dunes Links Golf in Cascais from May 13-16.
The Hong Kong Open, established in 1959, returns to the DP World Tour schedule for the first time since 2019 and will be played at Hong Kong Golf Club from October 21-24.
The calendar has been adjusted to accommodate the 2027 Ryder Cup, which will be held at Adare Manor in Ireland from September 17-19.
The Amgen Irish Open will be played at The K Club from July 1-4, while the FedEx Open de France will take place at Le Golf National from September 9-12.
The BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club is scheduled for September 23-26, with the season concluding with the Abu Dhabi Championship and DP World Tour Championship in November.
DP World Tour chief executive Guy Kinnings said the return of the historic national Opens underlined the Tour’s international reach.
“As Golf’s Global Tour, we are proud to provide this unique platform for our members to showcase their talents as they compete to put their own name alongside some of the iconic champions of our sport,” Kinnings said.
