Former Tahidi High actors Dennis Mugo, popularly known as OJ, and Angel Waruinge, better known as Miss Morgan, have reunited for a casual hangout, giving fans a glimpse of two familiar faces from one of Kenya’s most remembered television dramas. The two former co-stars were seen together in a video shared by OJ on Instagram on Monday, September 7, 2026. They spent time chatting, laughing and catching up away from the fictional school setting that first brought them together on television.

A reunion that brought back memories

OJ revealed that Miss Morgan had visited him, prompting interest among fans who remember their different roles on Tahidi High.

Waruinge played Miss Morgan, the strict deputy principal whose character was regularly at odds with students and staff at the fictional school. OJ, meanwhile, was known for his mischievous student character.

Their reunion has since revived memories of the show and its colourful cast.

“Miss Morgan had visited me,” OJ said while sharing the reunion with his followers.

Tahidi High became a major part of Kenyan television culture after its debut on Citizen TV in 2006. The programme followed the lives of students, teachers and other workers at a fictional secondary school, mixing comedy with everyday school experiences.

The actors have taken different paths since their days on the programme.

Waruinge left Tahidi High after about seven years. She later explained that she wanted a change after receiving an opportunity to work on the M-Net production Jane and Abel.

She has remained active in the creative sector and has worked in production and business development at Nairobi Performing Arts Studio. She has also taken part in theatre productions, including a 2022 staging of Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o's I Will Marry When I Want. (Pulse Kenya)
