A four-year-old boy died after falling from the
balcony of a third-floor apartment at Mwalimu Court in Nairobi’s Umoja Two area.
Police said the juvenile fell from the balcony of his family’s residential house at about 8:40 pm on September 4, 2026.
The child was rushed to Penda Medical Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police officers visited the scene and established that the boy had sustained a severe head injury that resulted in profuse bleeding.
The police processed the scene as officers commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the fatal fall.
The boy’s body was moved to Kenyatta University Mortuary, where it was preserved pending an autopsy.
Police investigations into the incident are ongoing, officials said on Sunday.
Elsewhere, a 20-year-old worker died after he was trapped in a conveyor belt while working at a steam plant in Athi River, Machakos county.
Timothy Oyindi Nyarige was involved in the workplace accident on September 4, 2026, at about 1 pm at a facility.
The company’s security manager was alerted to the accident and rushed to the scene, where he found Nyarige trapped in the conveyor belt as colleagues attempted to rescue him.
The worker was eventually freed and taken to the company’s dispensary, where he received first aid before being referred to Shalom Hospital in Athi River for specialised treatment.
Police officers visited the scene and commenced investigations.
Initial findings indicated that Nyarige had been working at the steam plant with his colleagues when he accidentally slipped into the conveyor belt.
He reportedly screamed for help before being rescued, but had sustained injuries to his right hand and head.
Nyarige, however, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
His body was preserved at the facility pending an autopsy as police continued investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal workplace accident.
Elsewhere, police have launched investigations after a 28-year-old man was found dead at an Islamic centre in Makindu, Makueni county.
The body of Ahmed Amir, was discovered on a bed at Shehe Abdalla Shehe Islamic Centre in Nthilani village, Manyatta Sub-location, Makindu Lower Market.
Police officers who visited the scene found Amir’s body lying on a bed with visible injuries on his right hand, bruises on his face and injuries on both legs.
Amir had arrived at the Islamic centre about a year earlier to pursue Islamic teachings.
The circumstances surrounding his death remained unclear, with police treating the incident as a suspected murder.
Crime Scene Investigation officers documented and photographed the scene before the body was removed and taken to Kibwezi Funeral Home, where it was preserved pending postmortem examination.
Detectives are investigating the circumstances
leading to the man’s death and seeking to establish whether he was assaulted
before he died.
