File image of Nairobi Water offices.Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) will on Friday conduct a mass disconnection exercise targeting customers with outstanding water bills in Utawala Zone, Upper Embakasi Region.
The utility has urged customers with pending bills to settle their accounts before the exercise to avoid disconnection and additional reconnection charges.
Customers can check their outstanding bills by dialling *260# and make payments through M-Pesa using Paybill 444400 or through authorised payment partners.
The exercise will cover customers within the Utawala Zone as the utility steps up efforts to recover outstanding water bills.

Water utilities conduct disconnection exercises as part of efforts to recover unpaid bills and encourage customers to keep their accounts up to date.
Revenue collected from water bills supports the operation and maintenance of water supply systems, including treatment, distribution, repairs and other services required to keep water flowing to customers.
Customers whose accounts have been disconnected may also be required to pay reconnection charges before their water supply is restored.
The notice forms part of Nairobi Water's efforts to improve revenue collection and maintain reliable water services across the city.
Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) was incorporated in December 2003 under the Companies Act, Cap 486.
It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nairobi City County with the main responsibility of providing and managing water and sewerage services in Nairobi, while the asset holding body, Athi Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA) is charged with the responsibility of developing key water and sewerage infrastructure.
The Company is mandated to provide clean water and sewerage services to the residents of Nairobi City County, in a financially sustainable manner and within Government regulations.
