Kenya Sugar Board CEO Jude Chesire says the regulator is taking action against weighbridge malpractices that have seen farmers lose up to three tonnes of cane per trailer, denying them payment for produce delivered. Chesire said KSB is procuring mobile weighbridges to independently verify cane weights and strengthen enforcement. He added that the Government is investing in cane-testing units to support quality- and sugar-content-based payment.
