Schools can now access their school-specific reports for the 2025 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) through the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) portal.
They are the same feedback reports released by KNEC and available for purchase through its bookshop.
The difference is that the school-specific reports are accessed electronically by schools through the CBA portal using their institutional credentials.
To access the reports, a school should first open the KNEC CBA portal at cba.knec.ac.ke.
The school should then sign in using its school credentials.
Once logged in, the user must confirm that the profile displayed in the top-right corner of the portal is Headteacher before proceeding.
After confirming the profile, the user should open the Headteacher menu and select School Report.
The system will then provide an option to select the type of report required.
Schools should choose either KJSEA or KPSEA, depending on the report they want to access.
The active report selected will be displayed above the download button, allowing the user to confirm that the correct report type has been chosen before downloading.
Once the correct report has been selected, the user should click the green Download button.
The report will be downloaded as a PDF file and, under normal browser settings, saved in the device's Downloads folder.
If the browser is configured to ask where files should be saved, the user will be prompted to select the preferred location.
KNEC has advised schools to verify the details on the downloaded report before using it.
Three key details should be checked to confirm that the report belongs to the intended school: the school name, the centre code and related details, and the report type, which must correspond to either KJSEA or KPSEA as intended.
The verification is important because the school-specific report is intended to provide an accurate record for the particular institution.
Schools should therefore not rely on the report until the identifying details have been checked against their own records.
The move gives headteachers direct access to institutional assessment information through the CBA portal rather than requiring them to obtain the school-specific reports through a physical outlet.
The reports can be used by schools to examine their assessment outcomes and support planning based on the performance of their learners.
They also give school administrators a reference point when reviewing assessment outcomes and identifying areas that may require improvement.
KNEC's instructions specifically require users to ensure that the Headteacher profile is active before selecting the School Report option.
This process enables schools to obtain their specific KPSEA and KJSEA reports directly from the KNEC CBA portal and ensures that the document downloaded is the correct report for the institution.
