The National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA)-led multi-agency team has seized 868 assorted alcoholic drinks and arrested two suspects in Eastleigh, Nairobi.
The operation was conducted on August 26, 2026, at Section 3 on 18th Street.
The team comprised officers from NACADA, the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) and the National Police Service.
The suspects, a distributor and a retailer, were arrested over the sale of alcoholic drinks bearing fake KRA stamps, uncustomed beers from Defence Forces Canteen Organization (DEFCO) stores, as well as expired and counterfeit products.
The seized items have been taken for analysis, while the two suspects were booked at Jogoo Road Police Station.

He warned manufacturers and alcohol dispensing outlets against unlawful practices, saying counterfeit alcoholic drinks can contain toxic substances such as methanol, which can cause blindness, organ failure and death.
NACADA has urged members of the public to report suspicious outlets or products through its free helpline, 1192, or at the nearest NACADA office or police station.
