The Games brought together schools from Uganda, Tanzania Burundi and Rwanda.

Team Kenya dominated the Federation of East Africa Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games in Morogoro, Tanzania, but the football title remained elusive as Uganda retained both the boys’ and girls’ crowns.

Musingu claimed the boys’ handball title after beating Uganda’s Wampeewo Ntaake 32-20. St Joseph’s Kitale took bronze after edging Gombe Secondary 32-30.

Musingu also won the newly introduced lacrosse title with nine points, while Mumias Muslim took silver.

St Joseph’s Girls’ retained the hockey title for the third year running, beating Ng’iya Girls’ 3-2 on penalty flicks after a 1-1 draw. Nyamira Girls’ took bronze with a 1-0 win over defending champions Kakungulu Memorial.

St Joseph’s also won the girls’ lacrosse title unbeaten, collecting 12 points. St Charles Khalaba finished fourth with six.

The Kitale school, under Chief Principal Rosebella Orwaru, added three silver medals in rugby 15s, handball and basketball 3x3. In handball, they lost 29-27 in the final, while Moi Girls’ Kamusinga took bronze after beating Nyakach Girls’ 32-26.

Kesogon Mixed retained the volleyball title after beating St Martha’s Mwitoti 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-13), while Uganda’s Namugongo beat ACK Chepsaita 3-2 to reclaim the boys’ title.

Cardinal Otunga High School, Mosocho, led a Kenyan sweep of boys’ rugby 7s, winning gold ahead of Friends School Bokoli and Butula Boys’.

Kinale Girls’ won the girls’ rugby 7s title, with Friends School Kimobo taking bronze. Uganda’s Jinja settled for silver.

St Mary’s School Yala won their first boys’ rugby 15s title with a 13-10 victory over national champions Upper Hill, while last year’s winners Kisii School finished fourth.

Kinale Girls’ also retained the girls’ rugby 15s title, beating St Joseph’s Girls’ Kitale, while Tanzania’s Elerai Secondary took bronze.

In baseball, Nkaimurunya Senior School won bronze, with national champions Mully Children’s Family Secondary finishing fourth. Tanzania’s Overland won gold.

Mully Children’s Family Secondary took silver in girls’ softball behind Uganda’s Panyadoli, while Musoli Girls finished fourth.

Tanzania’s Dodoma Secondary and Gairo won the girls’ and boys’ cricket titles respectively. Kenya’s Arya Boys finished fourth in the boys’ event.

Kenya dominated chess, winning gold in both the boys’ and girls’ competitions. Utumishi High School won the boys’ title, while Kahuhia took girls’ silver.

Agoro Sare won the boys’ basketball 3x3 title, beating Uganda’s Seroma Christian School 21-19. St Mary’s Yala finished fourth.

Seroma Christian Secondary won the girls’ title after beating St Joseph’s Girls Kitale 12-9. Ikutha Girls took bronze with an 11-9 win over hosts Msufini.

Kenya again missed out on a netball medal, with Uganda’s St Mary’s Kitende retaining the title.

Kenya excelled in cross country and track and field, winning most of the medals on offer.

Football remained Uganda’s stronghold. St Mary’s Kitende won a record 15th boys’ title after beating hosts Morogoro Secondary 2-1. Kenya’s Kakamega School and St Mary’s Yala finished ninth and 10th respectively.

In the girls’ final, Rines Secondary beat Amus College 4-3 on penalties after a goalless draw following extra time. Kenya’s Nyakach Girls and St Joseph’s Girls Kitale finished fifth and sixth respectively.
