Tusker FC began the 2026/27 campaign with silverware after defeating Gor Mahia 3-1 in the FKF Super Cup at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday.
The Brewers produced a strong performance against the reigning FKF Premier League champions to claim the first major trophy of the new season.
The match brought together the champions of Kenya's two major competitions from the previous season.
Gor Mahia had won the 2025/26 league title, finishing with 69 points, while Tusker earned their place in the Super Cup after winning the FKF Cup.
Tusker strike twice
Tusker started brightly but had to wait until the 34th minute to break the deadlock.
Francis Oduor reacted quickest after Gor Mahia failed to clear Servyl Akouala's free-kick. He finished from close range to give Tusker the lead.
Two minutes later, the Brewers doubled their advantage.Alvin Mang'eni created space before finding Eugene Ikutwa, whose powerful effort from distance beat Gor goalkeeper Humphrey Katasi.

Gor Mahia pull one back
Gor Mahia responded before half-time, although their goal came through an unfortunate moment for Tusker.
A long throw from Daniel Sakari caused problems in the box before Ikutwa inadvertently turned the ball into his own net.The goal reduced the deficit to 2-1 and gave Gor Mahia hope of completing a comeback after the break.
Gor came out with greater urgency in the second half and created opportunities, but Tusker goalkeeper Perrauld Ndinga made important saves to keep his side ahead.
Simiyu seals the trophy
Tusker restored their two-goal advantage in the 55th minute.
Yakeen Muteheli delivered a cross into the area, and Ian Simiyu rose to head the ball past Katasi.
The goal effectively changed the contest, leaving Gor Mahia needing two goals to take the match back into contention. Tusker managed the remainder of the game and secured a 3-1 victory.
