Turning Fans Into Participants
The planned session reflects the increasingly interactive approach surrounding Watendawili's relationship with their audience.
Rather than limiting the connection to a performance and a brief meet-and-greet, the duo want fans to participate in activities with them.
Games such as Giant Jenga are expected to provide a relaxed setting, while photographs and conversations will give fans a more personal encounter with the artists.
The merch activity could also give supporters a chance to contribute to or personalise items associated with the Wozaa World experience.
This approach is consistent with the duo's wider relationship with their fan base, known as the Wozaa Gang. Watendawili have previously explained that the community has its own hand sign, with the letter “W” representing winning.
Building the Wozaa World Community
Watendawili's decision to make interaction part of the event comes as their profile continues to grow.
Their Spotify profile currently lists more than 253,000 monthly listeners, while their catalogue includes their 2024 album En Route and their 2026 Hekaya EP.
The duo's music combines Afro-soul and Afro-pop with elements drawn from traditional Luo influences. Their songwriting has also focused heavily on personal stories and emotional experiences.
In an interview earlier this year, they said Hekaya was inspired by stories shared by their fans, including experiences of love, loss, celebration and grief.
That relationship between their music and their audience appears to be carrying into Wozaa World 2.
A Different Concert Experience
Wozaa World 2 will not be a small gathering. The event is being staged at Masshouse and is expected to run for nine hours.
Tickets listed by the organisers include advance tickets at Sh3,000, while a couple's ticket is listed at Sh5,000. The event is restricted to people aged 18 and above.
The two-hour fan interaction therefore offers a more intimate element before the main performance.
For Watendawili, Wozaa World is becoming more than a concert. It is an opportunity to bring the artists and the Wozaa Gang into the same space — and let fans become part of the experience rather than simply spectators.
