Samidoh's Political Move
Samidoh is expected to run on the ticket of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), a political party associated with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
The musician had previously signalled his interest in the seat. In March, he encouraged Kenyans to register as voters while using the hashtag #TukoKadi, a move that was interpreted as part of his preparations for the 2027 contest.

The statement underlined his focus on voter registration as he began building a political profile beyond his music career.
From Mugithi to Politics
Samidoh's entry into politics follows a career that has made him one of the recognisable names in Kenya's Mugithi scene.
His real name is Samidoh Muchoki Ndirangu. He previously served in the Kenya National Police Service before leaving the force in 2025, according to reports on his political journey.
Issues on His Agenda
Reports on Samidoh's political plans indicate that he intends to focus on issues including education, youth empowerment, roads, water and local markets.
These priorities are particularly relevant in a constituency where residents rely heavily on agriculture and local economic activity.
Ol Joro Orok currently has 60,147 registered voters, according to constituency-level election data from the 2022 election.
The constituency is currently represented by Michael Mwangi Muchira of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), who has held the seat since 2017.
