Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) has opened applications for five senior positions, including Managing Director and CEO, as it seeks to recruit qualified and result-oriented individuals.
The renewable energy company, which describes itself as a market leader in renewable energy solutions and the largest geothermal power producer in Africa, is seeking candidates for the positions of Managing Director and CEO, General Manager, Geothermal Development, Manager, Financial Accounting and Reporting, and Manager, Projects Monitoring and Evaluation.
For the Managing Director and CEO position, KenGen requires applicants to submit their application letters, detailed CVs and certificates physically to the Chairman of the Board at the Chairman’s Office, Stima Plaza, Pension Plaza II, 10th Floor, Nairobi.
Applications for the position must be clearly titled and referenced “APPLICATION FOR THE POSITION OF MANAGING DIRECTOR & CEO, REF: ‘KenGen/MD&CEO/01/08/2026’”.
The deadline for applications is September 8, 2026, at 5 pm.
KenGen is also recruiting a General Manager, Geothermal Development. Interested candidates are required to submit their application letters, detailed CVs and certificates through the KenGen careers portal or physically deliver them to the office of the Managing Director and CEO at Stima Plaza, Pension Plaza II, 10th Floor, Nairobi.
Applicants for the position must clearly indicate the job reference number on the envelope and application letter. The deadline is also September 8, 2026, at 5 pm.
The company is further seeking candidates for Manager, Financial Accounting and Reporting and Manager, Projects Monitoring and Evaluation.
Applications for the two positions are to be submitted through the KenGen careers portal by September 8, 2026, at 5 pm.
KenGen said canvassing and falsifying or misrepresenting qualifications will lead to automatic disqualification. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Successful candidates for the advertised positions will be required to present Chapter Six clearance certificates.
These include a valid certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, a valid clearance certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board and a valid tax compliance certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority.
They will also be required to provide a current clearance certificate from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission and a current report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau.
