DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua/FBThe Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) will on Saturday, August 15 take its political mobilisation drive to several parts of Nakuru county as it enters the second day of its tour of the region.
According to the party’s itinerary, the team led by Rigathi Gachagua will begin the day’s engagements in Rongai town before proceeding to Molo.
The leaders will then move to Elburgon town and Njoro Posta as part of the party’s grassroots mobilisation programme.
The day’s activities will culminate in Nakuru town, where the party is scheduled to open a new DCP office.
The office is expected to serve as a base for coordinating the party’s activities in the county as DCP seeks to strengthen its grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 general election.
The Nakuru tour comes a day after Gachagua and his team began their mobilisation activities in the county with the opening of a DCP office in Naivasha.
The team subsequently held public engagements in Gilgil, Soko Mjinga in Nakuru Town West and Kanu House in Nakuru Town East.
Gachagua was accompanied during Friday’s engagements by allied politicians and local party coordinators as the party continued its efforts to establish structures across the county.
Saturday’s programme will take the party’s mobilisation drive to additional areas of Nakuru, with the opening of the Nakuru town office set to be the second DCP office launched in the county during the two-day tour.
The DCP has been seeking to expand its organisational presence as it prepares for the 2027 polls.
The party has previously announced plans to field candidates across all 47 counties, signalling its intention to compete beyond its perceived political strongholds.
Gachagua has said DCP is positioning itself as a national political party with structures and a presence across the country.
The former Deputy President has in recent months stepped up political engagements in different parts of the country, with the party using public meetings, grassroots engagements and local offices to build its organisational structures.
Nakuru is a significant political battleground because of its large population and diverse political constituencies.
Gachagua’s team is expected to continue engaging residents and local leaders during the tour as DCP seeks to consolidate its presence in the county and advance its national mobilisation strategy.
