The Matatu Owners Association has condemned the alleged assault of a 19-year-old passenger by a matatu driver armed with a knife. Association Chair Albert Karacacha says weapons are not allowed in PSVs and has urged NTSA and police to arrest the suspected driver and summon the matatu sacco. Karacacha says saccos, rather than vehicle owners, are responsible for hiring and vetting drivers.
