Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) Director General Erastus Kanga has described the death of 15 elephants in Amboseli National Park as a major blow to Kenya’s tourism sector. The elephants are believed to have died after ingesting cyanide allegedly linked to pesticides from nearby tomato farms. Kanga said KWS was deeply saddened by the incident and announced the formation of a multi-agency committee to investigate the deaths.
