Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen has challenged former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to record a police statement and present evidence supporting claims that 68 women were raped by police during the Ol Kalou by-election. Speaking on Friday, Gachagua alleged that rogue officers and armed hooded men carried out state-sponsored violence including rape. However, Murkomen, addressing residents in Bomet County, termed the claims reckless and accused Gachagua of exploiting a grave issue for political gain without presenting victims.
