Kenyan singer and actress Jovial has said she has no plans to have another child, joking that anyone hoping to convince her otherwise would first have to pay her KSh5 million.
The musician made the remarks during an interview on Alex Mwakideu’s AMTV podcast while discussing motherhood and family life.
The conversation began when Mwakideu asked whether fans should expect another addition to her family.
Without hesitation, Jovial responded, “Hamna. No adding any baby, for real,” making it clear that she is content with having two children.

The presenter then playfully suggested that they could convince her to have another baby, prompting a humorous exchange that left both laughing.
“Mimi unanilipa nini? Milioni tano naingia labour tena. Na iwe ya kwangu, isiwe ya mtoto wako.”(What are you paying me? Give me KSh5 million and I’ll go into labour. And the money should be mine, not your child’s.)
Jovial added that she is “that money-minded”, before joking that if she ever started experiencing morning sickness again, the first thing she would do would be to check whether the money had reached her account.
Although the remarks were made in jest, the singer maintained throughout the conversation that she has no intention of expanding her family. The singer also revealed that her youngest son is named Simba, while expressing pride in being a mother of two.
Motherhood has changed her perspective.
Elsewhere in the interview, Jovial gave an honest account of what motherhood has been like, saying parenting is far from easy despite the joyful moments that come with it.
“It’s not easy. People say that children are cute. They’re cute for a second, and the next second they’re terrorising you. But they’re beautiful little humans.”
She said raising children teaches patience, noting that becoming patient does not happen automatically.
Not every parent is naturally patient, and not everyone even enjoys being patient. However, she believes that when someone genuinely wants to be a parent, patience comes naturally with the responsibility.
She added that parenthood is about taking life one day at a time and accepting that every day brings new lessons.
“You live one day at a time. You keep learning.”
