Popular Kenyan podcaster Chaxxy has revealed that he does not see himself getting married or having children in the future. Speaking during an episode of the Mic Cheque Podcast, the dreadlocked host shared his personal stance on traditional lifestyle milestones.

His comments have since sparked conversations online regarding the changing views of modern relationships.

When asked directly by his co-host if he ever plans to have children, Chaxxy gave a straightforward answer.

"Nah, I don't think so," he said, clarifying that he currently lacks a reason to pursue parenthood. He followed up on the question of marriage with the same stance, stating that he does not see himself taking that path either.

Shunning the Traditional Path

Chaxxy explained that he is simply not a fan of the traditional rites of passage that society expects. While he is entirely open to long-term companionship, he does not feel the need to formalise it through marriage laws or ceremonies. He looks at partnerships differently from the conventional blueprint.

"I think I want to have a partner for sure, but I don't know if I want to do the whole marriage thing,” he said.

For Chaxxy, the ideal setup involves finding a partner who shares the same values and relationship goals. He prefers a mutual agreement on how their partnership looks over standard societal rules.

He noted that if he can find someone to agree on those terms, he would be completely content.

A Flexible Future?

Despite his firm stance, Chaxxy did not completely shut the door on a change of heart. He acknowledged that his perspective might evolve over time.

“Currently, I don’t have a reason as to why I should have kids. Maybe that could change in a few years. It’s not that it’s a completely no, but for now, it’s still a no,” he added.

He also joked about the unpredictable nature of romance. He laughingly warned that the "daughters of Jezebel" can sometimes enter a man's life and completely confuse his plans.

The Co-Host Debate

The conversation took a humorous turn when the co-host pointed out that other team members, including fellow personality Mariah, seemed to share a similar mindset. Chaxxy quickly disputed this claim. He laughed off the idea that Mariah would stay single or childless.

"Mariah is definitely getting married... Mariah is having kids, Mariah is starting a family. That I know for a fact." — Chaxxy.

Chaxxy jokingly added that if Mariah had told anyone otherwise, she was simply lying. He concluded by saying he eagerly looks forward to attending her future wedding.

The Mic Cheque Podcast has grown rapidly within the Kenyan digital space. It is widely known for its unfiltered and raw discussions on lifestyle, culture, and social dynamics.

Chaxxy’s recent declarations highlight a growing demographic of young Africans who are reassessing traditional family structures in favour of custom relationship arrangements.
