Detectives in Sotik, Bomet County, are investigating the death of an 80-year-old man whose body was discovered near a dam in Kamugeno Village, Ndanai Sub-Location.
The body of Francis Too, 80, was found lying at a dam.
Detectives who visited the scene established that the deceased had a blood clot on the left eye, but no other visible injuries were observed.
Police documented and processed the scene before moving the body to Kapkatet Hospital mortuary pending an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Investigations into the suspected murder are ongoing.
Elsewhere in Bungoma County, police in Bumula have launched investigations after a human skeleton was discovered scattered in a thicket near River Nandingwa.
Police officers who visited the scene at Chiliba Village found several bones suspected to belong to a human body scattered in a bushy area on unoccupied land belonging to a resident.
Police said a further search led to the discovery of a human skull near a shallow grave along the riverbank of River Nandingwa.
The remains are believed to belong to an unknown person whose age, gender and tribe could not immediately be established.
The scene was documented and photographed before the skeletal remains were moved to Bungoma County Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation, identification and forensic analysis.
In Baringo County, a 12-year-old boy died in a tragic accident after an electricity pole reportedly fell on him while he was riding on a motorcycle.
The deceased was being carried on a motorcycle towards Longewan Trading Centre when the incident occurred.
According to police, the motorcycle rider and the pillion passenger encountered a loose hanging cable allegedly belonging to Kenya Power and Lighting Company.
Police said that as the rider attempted to lift the cable from the ground to allow them to pass, the electricity pole fell and struck the boy on the head.
The child was rushed to Marigat Sub County Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
His body was later moved to Baringo County Referral Hospital mortuary pending postmortem examination.
In Trans Nzoia County, police are investigating the brutal murder of a 45-year-old man whose body was found in his house with severe cut wounds and a slit throat.
The deceased, identified as Harrison Yator, had reportedly arrived at his farm in Mogoiwo Village, Milimani Sublocation when the incident happened Sunday night, police said.
According to police, screams were heard coming from his house at around 8:30pm by villagers who rushed to the scene. However, they found the house locked from outside.
When they checked through the window, they discovered his body lying in a pool of blood with deep cuts.
The matter was reported to local authorities before officers from Cherangany Police Station and detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations visited and processed the scene.
Police said the body had severe cuts on the head and legs and the throat had been slit.
The body was moved to Cherangany Nursing Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem examination.
Investigators said the motive behind the killing has not yet been established. A team revisited the scene on Tuesday as part of the probe into the murder.
