A 52-year-old Ugandan national was shot dead
during a violent robbery attack at Oldonyorok trading centre in Trans Mara
South Subcounty, Narok County.
According to police at Angata Barrikoi Police
Station, the incident occurred on Friday, May 15, 2026, when a gang of three
armed criminals raided the home of Julius Nabaya.
Police said they responded after residents reported hearing gunshots in the town. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers established that the gang, armed with an AK-47 rifle, had broken into the house using a huge stone.
At the time of the attack, Nabaya was inside the house with a woman aged 23, and a four-year-old girl.
The gang reportedly demanded money before assaulting Nabaya with a Maasai rungu fitted with a metal nut, inflicting multiple injuries to the head and right wrist.
The attackers later shot him twice. One bullet struck his left hand near the shoulder and exited through the right scapula, while another entered through the left side of the chest and exited at the right backside, police said.
The two other occupants escaped unhurt.
Police said the robbers stole a car washing machine, a Sun King solar radio lamp and six melamine cups before fleeing.
Investigators recovered a broken Maasai rungu fitted with a nut, a small white torch, one live 7.62x39mm round of ammunition and one spent cartridge of the same calibre at the scene.
The exhibits were collected for forensic
examination.
The scene was processed and documented by officers
from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Lolgorian.
The body was moved to Trans Mara South Subcounty Hospital mortuary pending postmortem examination as investigations into the murder and robbery continue.
Police suspect the gang was on a mission to kill the man.
Elsewhere, a 35-year-old man was shot and injured after allegedly attempting to force his way into the protected Moi Air Base military installation along Juja Road in Nairobi.
According to the military and the police, the incident occurred on Thursday evening at about 6.50 pm.
The matter was reported by military police officers attached to Moi Air Base.
Police said the man allegedly attempted to
trespass into the restricted military facility but ignored repeated orders from
sentries to stop.
Authorities said the suspect instead advanced
towards the officers, prompting the sentries to fire a warning shot.
However, the man sustained a gunshot wound to the lower abdomen during the confrontation.
He was initially rushed to Moi Air Base Hospital
before being referred to Kenyatta National Hospital, where he was admitted in
stable condition.
Officers from the Scenes of Crime unit visited and
processed both the primary and secondary scenes as investigations into the
incident continue.
